Relatively
new to storytelling, Jason has been a performer for many years, from
cocktail cabaret to swallowing spoons and garden shears.
His
own stories are often set in the mythical land of Varushka,
a re-imagining of old Russia, full of dark forests and incautious
travellers. Outside story clubs, his Varushkan stories have been
told, in character (and in armour), at the dark tents and bright
fire-pits of the Profound Decisions game events,
accompanied by drum and lyre.
Jason’s
new story is not set in Varushka, but somewhere that is
not Africa, but ‘like Africa’ and must be true … because
Death himself said so. Love, Death , and The Devil’s Son
is a coming-of-age story, where the boundlessness of youth meets the
responsibilities and sacrifices of adulthood, and all for Love.
